Ingredients
  

Cabbage Leaves
  • 1 medium head cabbage Choose a good-quality head for the best flavor.
Meat Mixture
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken, or vegetarian protein) Feel free to mix different ground meats or use a vegetarian substitute.
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 egg optional, for binding
  • 1 cup shredded cheese optional
For Brushing
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For brushing the burgers.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare the cabbage leaves by removing any damaged ones. Cut the cabbage in half, carve out the core, and blanch large leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, and optionally cheese and egg. Mix well.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Fill each cabbage leaf with the meat mixture and wrap it securely.
  3. Brush the wrapped burgers with olive oil and season with salt.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and browned. Optionally, broil for the last 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a side salad, steamed vegetables, or your favorite dipping sauces like ranch or marinara. You can also add toppings like salsa, guacamole, or shredded lettuce for extra flavor.
