  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey for a lighter version.
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
Spices and Seasoning
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder More can be added for extra spiciness.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin Adjust to taste.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is softened.
  3. Stir in kidney beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Wendy's Chili!

Notes

For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeƱos or a dash of hot sauce. If you want a thicker chili, you can simmer it longer or add a tablespoon of tomato paste. Modify the recipe by adding bell peppers, corn, or cooked bacon for extra flavor. For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef for lentils or mushrooms.
