Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb lean ground beef Use lean beef to keep the dish healthier.
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
For the Gravy
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp flour To thicken the gravy.
For the Garlic Herb Mashed Potatoes
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (for mashed potatoes), minced
  • to taste Fresh herbs (such as parsley or thyme)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Form mixture into meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  2. In a saucepan, heat beef broth and thicken with flour to create gravy.
Mashed Potatoes
  1. Boil potatoes until tender, then mash with cream, butter, minced garlic, and herbs.
Serving
  1. Serve meatballs with gravy over the top and a side of garlic herb mashed potatoes.

Notes

You can add sautéed mushrooms to the gravy for extra flavor. Store leftovers in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze them separately for up to 3 months.
