Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients for the meatballs together until well combined.
- Roll the mixture into meatballs by hand, making sure they are roughly the same size.
Cooking
- Heat a little oil in a pan over high heat. Sear each meatball for a minute on one or two sides, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Once seared, remove the meatballs from the pan and lower the heat to medium.
- Add the tomato paste to the pan, cooking it for about 10 seconds before mixing in the pizza sauce.
- Place the meatballs back into the pan, coating them in the sauce, then turn off the heat.
- Sprinkle the tops of the meatballs with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Transfer the pan to your preheated oven and bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until the cheese is browned and the meatballs are cooked through.
Notes
Store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. For extra flavor, consider adding minced garlic or Italian herbs.
