Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound beef (the cut of your choice, like flank steak or sirloin)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or coconut aminos for a paleo option)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting the beef into thin strips against the grain.
  2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Add the beef strips and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. While the beef marinates, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the broccoli to the pan and stir-fry for about 3–4 minutes until it’s bright green and tender-crisp. Remove the broccoli from the pan and set it aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the marinated beef along with the marinade. Cook the beef for about 5–7 minutes until it’s browned and cooked through.
  4. Return the broccoli to the pan and mix everything together. Cook for another 1–2 minutes, allowing flavors to combine.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

You can serve this dish on its own or pair it with cauliflower rice. To store leftovers, let the dish cool completely, place it in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to a month. Use a meat tenderizer on the beef for extra tenderness, and consider adding extra vegetables for more flavor.
