  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in the kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve over hot dogs or with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding diced bell peppers or other vegetables. Adjust spice level to your taste.
