Ingredients
  

Chicken Preparation
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts Marinate in buttermilk
  • 1 cup buttermilk For marinating chicken
Coating Mixture
  • 1 cup flour For coating the chicken
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
Honey Butter
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Melted for honey butter
  • 4 tablespoons honey For drizzling
Assembling Sandwich
  • 4 pieces sandwich buns Toast if desired

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Remove chicken from buttermilk and coat in the flour mixture.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side.
  2. In a separate saucepan, melt butter and mix in honey to create the honey butter.
Assembly
  1. Toast the sandwich buns if desired.
  2. Assemble the sandwiches by placing the fried chicken on the bottom bun, drizzling with honey butter, and adding lettuce and tomato if using.
  3. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.

Notes

If storing leftovers, keep fried chicken separate from buns and toppings. Store chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat as necessary. Assemble sandwiches fresh before eating.
