  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth Low sodium recommended
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For Serving
  • Pita bread
  • Tzatziki sauce Essential for flavor
  • Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and other preferred toppings

Method
 

Cooking the Chicken
  1. In a crockpot, combine chicken broth, olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken breasts and cover.
  3. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender.
  4. Shred the chicken with two forks and mix it with the cooking juices.
Serving
  1. Serve the shredded chicken in pita bread topped with tzatziki sauce and your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate in the olive oil, garlic, and spices for a few hours or overnight before cooking. If you want a little heat, consider adding some chili flakes to the seasoning mix. Don’t skip the tzatziki sauce; it adds a creamy and refreshing touch that complements the chicken perfectly.
