  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup crushed red pepper flakes Adjust amount to taste for desired spice level.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Monitor closely while sautéing.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar Adjust sweetness to taste, can be omitted.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional) For added texture and flavor.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and sugar.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool, then add sesame seeds if using.
  5. Transfer to a jar and store in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Notes

Drizzle over pasta, rice, or roasted vegetables. Great as a dipping sauce for dumplings or spring rolls. Shake before using as ingredients may separate.
